International Awards

Young Woman in Public Affairs (YWPA).

Annual award for a young woman aged 17-20, about to enter tertiary education. Applications are invited from young women at any time, and information may be obtained from a Zonta Club. Click here to find a club nearest you. New Zealand winner receives $US1000, plus $NZ2,000 and is automatically entered into the International Award selection round.

Closing date for applications 1st April each year (please note; Club closing dates may differ)
New Zealand winner is announced 31st May
International winner is announced 31st July

Jane M Klausman Woman in Business Scholarship

Annual scholarship for an outstanding female business student completing her final year of an undergraduate business degree, or masters degree. Applications are invited from young women at any time, and information may be obtained from a Zonta Club nearest you. Click here to find a club. New Zealand (District 16) winner will receive $US1,000 from Zonta International plus $NZ1,000. the New Zealand winner is automatically entered into the International Award selection round. International winners receive $US5,000.

Closing date for applications 30 June each year (please note; Club closing dates may differ)
New Zealand winner is announced by 31 July
International winner is announced by 30 September

Club Awards and Scholarships

Zonta Clubs around New Zealand offer a range of Awards and Scholarship for women and girls. This is a listing of currently available awards.

These include;

Zonta Women in Science Award – Post-doctoral award awarded biennially – Contact Wellington@zonta.org.nz for details.  The 2010 winner was Dr Julie Lim a molecular biologist in the Department of Optometry and Vision Science at the University of Auckland.

Zonta Design Awards – Women design students at Massey University Wellington College of Creative Arts awarded annually – Contact Wellington@zonta.org.nz for details
 
Cherry Raymond Award - offered annually to a woman living or working in the Auckland area for a project which demonstrates the objectives of Zonta International. Applications are called for in July/August - Contact auckland@zonta.org.nz

Hibiscus Sholarship Education Award - offered biennially to a women aged 30+ living on the Hibiscus Coast undertaking any NZQA accredited course of study.  Contact Lesley on lesley@redbeach.school.nz or phone 09 4243614 for more details.

Hawkes Bay Young Women of Potential - awarded biennially to a young woman of high school age residing in the Hawkes Bay region. Contact hawkesbay@zonta.org.nz or download a YWOP Application Form here.
