New Zealand Zontian to lead Zonta International

Lynn McKenzie, member of the Zonta Club of Wellington, has been elected to the position of President Elect of Zonta International and in July 2012 will become the International President for Zonta International. For more details refer below.

New Clubs being formed

The Zonta Club of Mangawhai has been Chartered on the 17th May 2010. Enquiries from interested new members are welcome. A new Club in Alexandra is also being formed, and enquiries are welcomed. Please contact enquiriesd16@zonta.org.nz. for more information.

March 2010
International Women's Day - 8th March 2010 - Celebrated throughout the world International Women’s Day was established to acknowledge the contribution of women in all areas of work, and community life. Zonta Clubs events celebrate this day.

Zonta Rose Day – 8^th March 2010 – the symbol of Zonta Rose Day is a yellow rose, gifted on the 8^th March each year to celebrate International Women’s Day.

April - May 2010

Area Forums are held across New Zealand during the months of March - May. Hosted by various Zonta Clubs, these are important meetings which enable members to update on current Zonta business, and learn more about the work of Zonta Clubs in our local communities, and elsewhere

November - December 2010

International day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women - 25th November - Zonta Clubs throughout New Zealand, are planning special events on White Ribbon Day (25th Nov) to support the message of zero-tolerance of violence against women and children.
